AMP Research Introduces the BedStep

AMP Research, inventor and manufacturer of the Power Step and the Bed X-Tender™, has now introduced the first truly practical way to easily access the tailgate of a truck. The BedStep™ tailgate step, manufactured from heavy-duty aluminum, is a sturdy, yet lightweight bumper step that folds out to provide an easy step-up to the bumper to open the tailgate when loading cargo. The BedStep offers the first easy and practical solution to gain access to the truck bed even with the tailgate open.

The BedStep installs in minutes using the existing rear bumper mounting points. Manually operated, this convenient step “snap-locks” in the down position. When the tailgate is down, unique multi-link construction allows the step to position to a convenient side angle, allowing easy side access. When not in use, the BedStep stows conveniently under the rear bumper with absolutely no interference to ground clearance.

The heavy-duty aluminum multi-link construction provides a solid platform for commercial and recreational use, and can be installed in less than five minutes. Product availability is slated for spring of 2007. Applications include Ford Super Duty, F-150, Chevy Silverado, Dodge Ram and the 2007 Toyota Tundra. The manufacturer’s target suggested retail price (MSRP) is $199.00, plus a vehicle specific fit kit.
